Sourcing from India to France, done properly.
France has a long history of cultural and trade exchange with India, and demand spans Ayurveda, textiles, and handicraft pieces in particular. We source from Amazon India, Flipkart, Meesho and beyond, and ship to Paris or anywhere else in France — under the EU’s framework, plus France’s own early move on import handling fees.
Customs & duties to France
Threshold: EUR 150 (EU duty threshold); EUR 2 French handling fee per item since 1 Mar 2026
France applies the EU-wide rules: from 1 July 2026, a temporary EUR 3 flat customs duty per item on consignments up to EUR 150 (until July 2028), with VAT as normal. Since 1 March 2026 France has also charged its own EUR 2 handling fee per customs-declaration line on non-EU low-value parcels up to EUR 150 (gifts excluded) — a national measure until the EU introduces its own handling fee later in 2026. Reviewed August 2026.

Shipping policy →What needs care shipping to France.
France charges its own €2 handling fee per item on non-EU low-value parcels (since 1 March 2026), on top of the EU-wide rules, so declared value and product classification accuracy matter even more on this lane. We prepare proper documentation for every France-bound order and confirm the current fee position at the quote stage.
What buyers in France source most.
Why DS Corp vs. the alternative.
France moved ahead of the wider EU timeline — it has charged its own €2 handling fee per item on non-EU low-value parcels since 1 March 2026, on top of the EU rules. Most generic EU shipping content doesn’t reflect this.
| Ordering Direct / Other Agents | With DS Corp | |
|---|---|---|
| France-specific fee awareness | Generic EU pages don’t account for France’s own €2 per-item handling fee, in force since March 2026 | We factor in both the EU-wide duty and France’s own fee in every France quote |
| Declared value accuracy | Risk of inaccurate declarations as both EU and French rules tighten | We declare accurate value on every shipment |
| Category fit | Generic agents may not understand which Indian categories resonate in France | Our category mix reflects genuine French demand patterns |
Sourcing to France — FAQ
Does France have its own import fee separate from the EU rule?
France is expected to introduce its own national handling fee on low-value imports, following Italy and Romania which did so from January 2026. We’ll confirm if this has taken effect for your order.
What is the EU-wide rule that applies to France?
From 1 July 2026, a flat €3 customs duty applies to most parcels under €150 entering any EU country, including France.
Is VAT also charged on orders to France?
Yes, French VAT continues to apply to imports as before — the EU threshold change relates to customs duty, not VAT.
Are there products you can’t ship to France?
Some categories face restrictions regardless of value. We check this at the quote stage and flag anything that isn’t shippable to France specifically.
Why does France have a dedicated page instead of just the Europe page?
France has specific handling fee developments and category demand patterns distinct from the broader EU framework, which we cover here rather than repeating generic content.
